If you have a teammate with too many YouTube links or gossip stories that you want to put on hold for a while, just go to the right pane of your chat window and select Mute.
Blocking people in a business dedicated tool is a bit unusual. In such a case, you could simply ask your teammate if all her/his tasks are finished. This should work for a while.
