Does the call button in topics initiate a conf call?

Noticed there is a new button in topics that allows you to call an extension. Is that button used to lauch a conference call with the people in the topic?

Indeed, the new call button in Topics allows you to have an audio conference with the people watching the Topic. They are all notified of the incoming call. The conference extension allows users calling from phones connected to the system to attend a group voice conversation.
