When you message a customer, he/she will get your message as an email. That's why it's important to add a valid email address to their Hubgets profile. Without it, you cannot message them. It doesn't matter what email client they're using, your messages will go straight into their inbox. The customer's phone number, on the other hand, is required so that you can call him/her straight from the interface. I hope things are less blurry now :)
