Does mentioning a colleague in the team-board send him a message?

If  I mention a colleague in my Status message, does he get a notification on my mention or does he have to check the team-board to see it?

Hi Peter,

For now, your colleague would have to check the Team board to see if anyone's been mentioning him/her. But just to make sure no one's missing any status message pointing directly at them, we're working on a new notification to let people know whenever someone's mentioned them in a status message.
